Marcus Stone, PhD is a versatile medical research professional with over 15 of experience delivering high quality medical science. Dr. Stone received his Doctor of Philosophy from Indiana State University where he was also an Assistant Professor and the Director of Sports Injury Research Laboratory.
Prior to joining the Spine Institute of Louisiana in 2013 as the Director of Clinical Research, Dr Stone was the Director of Orthopedic Trauma Research at OrthoIndy and a partner in Alegius Consulting.
In 2014, Dr. Stone assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Spine Institute of Louisiana Foundation. Under his direction the Foundation has continued to grow in both number and diversity of studies, which include medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics, stem cells, and vaccines. He has also lead the dissemination of these trials’ results with frequent peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific meetings in the United States and internationally. What brings him the most joy in his work though is seeing patients positively impacted around the globe from the research conducted here.
Dr. Stone is an active member of International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, North American Spine Surgery, Cervical Spine Research Society, Academy Clinical Research Professionals, Model Agreements & Guidelines International, and Society for Clinical Research Sites.
Away from work, Dr. Stone enjoys spending time with his wife and six kids doing whatever it is they are interested in.
